CHRISTmas for the Kids

As some of us get ready for gift giving and family dinners etc... Let us remember to keep the children in the forefront of our hearts and thoughts. Remember our children are watching us like HAWKS!!! So whatever we do they are keeping an eye out to see how we will respond to the things in life. One of the those things is the CHRISTmas Holiday (which for us should be another Holy Day).

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ephesians 6:1
Children, obey your
parents in the Lord: for this is right.
Building Strong Family Bonds
Our children look for us to teach, protect and to be faithful to them.  When we spend time with them it produces structure, order, discipline and accountability into their lives.
Family bonding is very beneficial for all participants.  Children learn how to behave in society by watching their parents interact with each other and how they react to different circumstances.  A loving, quiet and unified household is very essential for our children to do well in life and in school.
Remember our children learn by what they see from us as their parents.  So teach them bibilical values and model it too.
Kingdom Building!  Amen.....
Family Unity
The need for unity is highly imperative in a family setting.  How does family life get so messed up when God has given us a blueprint for successful marriages and family?
Let's look at what scripture says.
~Genesis 2:21-24
"And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place.  The the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.  And Adam said: "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man."  Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh."
(Read Psalm 127:1-5 & 128:1-6)
~Ephesians 5:22-28
"Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord.  For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body.  Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.  Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.  So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself."
Your children will be blessed.  Kingdom building, Amen!
Straight from the Bible
~Proverbs 23:13-14~
"Do not withhold correction from a child, for if you beat him with a rod, he will not die.  You shall beat him with a rod, and deliver his soul from hell".
Enough said. Amen!
Training Your Child
When God gives us children, He gives us the responsibility of training them properly.  Our goal is to train our children to control themselves.  In school he or she will have to respond properly to authority.  He or she will need to be able to sit still for awhile and focus on their tasks.  As an adult, he or she will have to go to work when he or she doesn't feel like it.  You can ask, what will this behavior look like in 6 months if I let it go on?  What will it look like when he or she is 12, 15 or 18 years of age?
The bible instructs us as parents, to train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.  (Proverbs 22:6)
Parents ultimately, God's ways are best.
God instructs our children to honor us......
Exodus 20:12 "honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you".
Ephesians 6:2 "honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with promise".
God also tells us as parents that we should teach our children daily.....
Deuteronomy 6:6-7 "and these words which I command you today shall be in your heart.  You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up".
Proverbs 10:1 "a wise son makes a glad father, but a foolish son is the grief of his mother".
The Prodigal Son
Luke 15:11-32 talks about the story of the Prodigal son.  Are you familiar with this story of the bible?
Jesus tells this story of a man who has two sons.  The youngest son asks his father for his portion of his inheritance.  Once he received it, the son promptly sets off to begin a self destructive life pattern.  After the money runs out, he faced a severe famine and found himself in dire circumstances.  Finally, the young man came to his senses and returned home.
After reading this story, here are some questions to reflect on.
1.  Who are you in this story?
2.  Are you a prodigal son, a pharisee or a servant?
3.  Are you the rebellious son, lost and far from God?
4.  Are you the self-righteous pharisee, no longer capable of rejoicing when a sinner returns to God?
5.  Maybe you've hit rock-bottom, come to your senses and decided to rn to God's open arms of compassion and mercy?
6.  Or are you one of the servants in the household, rejoicing with the father when a lost son finds his way home?
God's Protection
God's Armor of Protection for Our Children
~Ephesians 6:10-11~
Lord, we thank You for Your protection of our children.  With the full armor of God, may they be strong in Your mighty power.  Help them to stand firm with the belt of truth and to put on the breastplate of righteousness, knowing they are in right standing with you.  May the gospel of peace be like shoes on their feet.  As they take up the shield of faith, give them the Holy Spirit to fight for victory over evil.  With the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit the actual Word of God, may they be completely covered with the Blood of Jesus.
Please keep in mind, as you pray for your child pray for their friends too.
In the matchless name of Christ Jesus, Amen!
Salvation For Your Child
It is never to early to start praying for your child.  Pray for your child's salvation!
Lord, I ask and pray in the name of Jesus that You would plant a seed in my child's heart to desire You.  I pray that he or she would come to know You personally at a young age.  Help him or her to know You as their Lord and Savior.  Place it in their hearts to stay on the straight, narrow path to Your kingdom.  Place it in their hearts to be righteous, just and grant them Godly wisdom and strong discernment.  Give them ears to hear, eyes to see and a heart to receive Your love gift of salvation.  I pray this prayer for my child and all children.  In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Amen
~Mark 10:15-16 "I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.  And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them."
God Is Your Comfort
This prayer is for all mothers who finds themselves overwhelmed from the many tasks of life.  As you're going through, just remember God is always with you.
Our Heavenly Father, there is none like You.  When I am sad, overwhelmed or feeling discouraged, You are my comfort.  Your calm presence restores my soul.  Your words are cool and refreshing to my spirit. Your love fills the emptiness of my heart.  Despite my situation, I will continue to bath myself in Your word.  Father God, please continue to comfort me with Your warm blanket of peace and love.  Continue to guide my steps on the path of righteousness.  Although I feel like I'm lost in a dark valley, I will not be afraid, for You are with me.  Your gentle strength and Your divine authority will comfort me all the days of my life.
O'Lord, I love you, I magnify Your name and I sings praises unto You.  In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
~Psalm 23:3-4 "He restores my soul.  He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.  Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me."
May we encourage our children to pray, sing songs of praise and read their bible. God bless!
Wise Sayings From the Wise
Our children often do foolish and dangerous things simply because they don't understand the consequences.  Discipline is teaching and teaching is discipline.
~Proverbs 13:1 "A wise child accepts a parent's discipline, a mocker refuses to listen to correction."
~Proverbs 15:20 "Sensible children bring joy to their father; foolish children despise their mother."
~Proverbs 19:18 "Discipline your children while there is hope.  Otherwise you will ruin their lives."
~Proverbs 20:11 "Even children are known by the way they act, whether their conduct is pure, and whether it is right."
~Proverbs 22:15 " A youngster's heart is filled with foolishness, but physical discipline will drive it far away."
Be Blessed by the wise sayings of Solomon, one of the wisest men in the bible.  His purpose was to teach people to live disciplined and successful lives, to help them do what is right, just and fair.
Children's Laughter
The joy of children's laughter is a precious gift from God; It rings in from the playground, where they run with feet unshod.  With the freedom of their innocence, where life's a magic place days are filled with fantasy wrapped in a dream's embrace.
A child's laughter is full of truth from a heart that's open wide, daydreams, rhymes and fairy tales are sheltered there inside.  There wrapped in every child's smile is a request for every man to hold onto the wistfulness as tightly as they can.  In the sound of children's laughter is a treasure full of love, a precious gift to humankind from our Father up above... Nancy W. Dodrill.
Psalm 5:8 "But I can enter Your house because of Your great love.  I can worship in Your holy temple because of my reverence for You, Lord".
Don't Quit
When a child or someone we may know feels that they want to quit, we can seek the Word of God to enlighten and encourage them "not to quit"!
  • 2 Corinthians 4:8~ " We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed and broken".
  • Galatians 6:9~ "Don't get tired of doing what is good.  Don't get discouraged and give up, for we will reap a harvest of blessing at the appropriate time".
Even in the midst of suffering, we can find strength to endure for Christ.  Don't quit, you already have the V-I-C-T-O-R-Y!!!
Independence
Parenting by the Word of God
As a parent, how much independence should you allow your child?
First, recognize that an adolescent's desire for privacy does not always spell trouble.  It is a normal part of growth.  Privacy help adolescents test their wings as they develop their own friendships and think through their problems using the power of reason.  Let's look at Proverb 15:28.  It says, "The heart of the righteous studies how to answer, but the mouth of the wicked pours forth evil."
Second, realize that attempts to micromanage your adolescent's life may lead to resentment and rebellion.  Parents read Ephesian 6:4.  "And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord."
Third, if there is a matter to discuss with your adolescent, listen to his or her concerns.  Share with your adolescent that you will allow him or her a measure of privacy as long as your trust is not betrayed.
Remember parents, Proverbs 22:6 says, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.
The Missing Link in Child Rearing
God's instruction to parents is very clear.  "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.  And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart.  You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up".
 (Deuteronomy 6:5-7).
The implication is really clear: Only when we hold right principles in our hearts can we, as parents, successfully instill them in our children.
An Parent's Urgent Plea for Help in Trouble
Being a parent and going through the stumbles of life and all other things that life brings daily.  At some point in time we all become heavily stressed, overworked and overwhelmed with our life issues.  During these times seek the Lord's face through His word and prayer.
Save me, O God!  For the waters have come up to my neck.  I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing; I have come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me.  I am weary with my crying; my throat is dry; my eyes fail while I wait for my God.  Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink.  Let not the floodwater overflow me, nor let the deep swallow me up and let not the pit shut its mouth on me.  Draw near to my soul and redeem it, for I am full of heaviness.  Let your salvation, O God, set me up on high.  I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify Him with thanksgiving now and forever more.
In Jesus Name, Amen.....
When God Is Welcome in Your Home
When God is welcome in your home, oh, what a haven it will be, for family is so special.  Of this I'm sure you will agree!  A mother is more nurturing, and a father truly cares; A son and daughter more obedient when a family lifts their hearts in prayer.  A sister is more fun to share with and a brother stands by when you're in need; A family blossoms like a garden when love is in each seed. There seems to be plenty of healthy laughter and many a listening ear; When a family yields to God's great love, He'll guide through every fear.  So extend your hands heavenward and ask God to come inside, for it you bend unto His Holy Will in your home and heart He will abide.
