The Prodigal Son

Luke 15:11-32 talks about the story of the Prodigal son.  Are you familiar with this story of the bible?

Jesus tells this story of a man who has two sons.  The youngest son asks his father for his portion of his inheritance.  Once he received it, the son promptly sets off to begin a self destructive life pattern.  After the money runs out, he faced a severe famine and found himself in dire circumstances.  Finally, the young man came to his senses and returned home.

After reading this story, here are some questions to reflect on.

1.  Who are you in this story?
2.  Are you a prodigal son, a pharisee or a servant?
3.  Are you the rebellious son, lost and far from God?
4.  Are you the self-righteous pharisee, no longer capable of rejoicing when a sinner returns to God?
5.  Maybe you've hit rock-bottom, come to your senses and decided to rn to God's open arms of compassion and mercy?
6.  Or are you one of the servants in the household, rejoicing with the father when a lost son finds his way home?
