3and said, "Verily I say unto you, unless ye be converted and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.
4Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Isn't that astounding? Jesus says not only must we be converted but we must also become as little children. As I remember my children as "little" several things come to mind. Number one they were teachable. I could teach and train them without their pride or insecurities popping up, they just simply learned and did. Another thing I remember is their ability to forgive without holding grudges and the love they shared openly without reserve even to the other little kids who may have hurt them prior. In verse 4 Jesus talks about humbling oneself like a little child, remember when your child would cry out for your help, or for food, or for fun without any shame or hesitation? That's what this means to me. To cry out to Abba daily for help, for rest, for EVERYTHING without allowing my so called "independence" to keep Him away, which leads to my last memory and observation of small children..their total dependence upon and absolute trust in their parents. We live in a world that tries to condition us to do you,go with what you feel, do what you think is best. The truth is we HAVE to rely upon God for everything, every action and reaction, every decision made, EVERYTHING. I myself fail everytime when I try to be "grown." While maturity is required for growth in all areas may we remmeber constantly that we must become as little children to enter into in His Kingdom. (-:
