Your Child and Your Brother/Sister

Romans 12:9-11 (New King James Version)

9 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. 10 Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; 11 not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;

In this verse God is giving us some basic instructions as to how to behave as Christians especially behavior towards one another as God family. These principles can be applied in all relationships of course but today think about it in terms of your children who have openly confessed Christ. One day they are covered by God because of our realtionship with God ( 1st Corinthians 7:14) to being covered by God because of their own personal relationship with Him. WOW!!!

When I pray with or for my children I always make an effort to remind myself and them that we are family through Christ's blood. It is truly a revelation worth grasping as some people view children as unimportant or not having any value until they are old enough to contribute to the household. Nothing could be further from the truth. Children have value as does every soul that comes through the womb. For my kids there was a deeper understanding that yes you are Mom but Mom is also my sister in Christ. They grasp that while they were raised by us they don't really belong to us, they belong to God. As Parents and Brethren to our children it's so good to practice now preferring them before ourselves. There are many of us that have different viewpoints regarding children and their treatment. It can even run as deep as the part of the country you live in or were born in. Today may I just encourage you, if you are not already doing so to ask God to help you love and treat the kids He has made you a temp steward over to show you how He would have you treat them according to His Word. It will be a tremendous blessing to you and to them I promise you (-:

Same Page for Kids Sake

Proverbs 22:6(New King James Version)

6 Train up a child in the way he should go,
And when he is old he will not depart from it.

There have been several high profle people who practice a lot of religions within their home. I think about how confused those children might be now or will me in the future or even worse how much more open they will be to the deceptions of the enemy. As I get opportunities to talk to young people considering marriage I always ask how they are going to handle religious issues. When they get married will the couple attend the same church. Are they as parents on one accord concerning their convictions? Are the parents prepared to stand up for their convictions when it involves close family members?
As parents or future parents it's so important to be on the same page in the home especially where God is concerned. Now I know that there are people who both married as sinners and now one gets Saved and the other does not. But when you have two Christians maybe from different backgrounds it's so important to be in agreement regarding the children. They are not just the future church they are the church NOW. Keep them strong and steady by being in agreement first with God and then with one another. We are charged to train them up right the first go around so when they are older and get married and have kids they will not depart from God and neither will their children and their childrens children and so on. Age Old Question

Little Johnny asked his grandmother how old she was. Grandma answered, "Forty-nine and holding"

Johnny thought for a moment, and then said, "And how old would you be if you let go?"

Children are...

Children's children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers. Proverbs 17:6

Sometimes when my husband has to work late my children have a hard time sleeping. If he leaves and has to go to a work site they have a hard time sleeping.
Truly the glory of children are their fathers. Father's mean so much to their children, they bring strength and security to their children. Father's you are so important to your children please recognize the fact that you are the glory of your kids
they need you in so many ways...... by Marva Johnson
